What StoreStock does

Stock as an append-only ledger: quantity changes only through movements — receive, dispense, adjust with a recorded reason. The database refuses negative stock and refuses to issue an expired batch; reorder levels and expiry surface on one attention list.

How you actually use it

  1. Receive a delivery into a batchQuantity, batch number and expiry date. Stock only exists as batches, because that is the only form in which an expiry means anything.
  2. Dispense and adjustEvery change is a movement on an append-only ledger and an adjustment carries its reason. Negative stock and an expired batch are both refused by the database, not by a report somebody reads later.
  3. Work the attention listWhat has fallen under its reorder level and what is going out of date, on one screen instead of two habits.
  4. Let the wards askA ward raises an indent for what the room needs, the store picks against it, and what the room actually used is recorded — which is what lets a stay be costed from real consumption.
  5. Move stock between branchesIssued at one end and received at the other, both stamped, so stock in transit is a state rather than a mystery.

What it reads

catalogconsumption

What it writes

stock movementsindents
Same patient record as every other app — nothing is copied into a silo. Data class: No PHI.

What it does not do

It will not issue expired stock and will not let a batch go negative — both refusals live in the database, not in a report. The ledger appends; it never edits.

Every app page carries this section. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.
