Customer returns by batch — expired, broken or wrong — credited on the ledger, restocked, quarantined or destroyed, and claimed back from the supplier.
Installs with StoreStock and TradeLedger, whose screen it works onGoods a trade customer sends back, by item and batch: expired, near expiry, broken, the wrong item, or something else, said in words. A return taken against one of your orders can never be more than the order sent, counting earlier returns. The credit each line earns is the business’s own decision, at the order’s price with tax unless someone changes it, and the credit note lands on the customer’s TradeLedger account. Each line says what happened to the goods. One of your own batches still in date can go back on the shelf in StoreStock. Expired goods never do. Goods can be held in quarantine until someone decides. Destroyed goods are recorded with how they were destroyed, and can also be logged on the waste register in the category the person chooses. Goods sent back to the manufacturer or supplier go on a claim: the claim is sent with its reference, then settled in full, in part with what came back, or rejected with the reason.
