The free list is made of the store’s own items, each with the scheme that supplies it, so its stock is the store’s: usable and expired quantities, the next expiry, the last 30 days’ use and how many days that lasts, with an item flagged out when none is usable and low at the reorder level set for it in Stock. Out and low items sit at the top of the list. Giving a free medicine to a patient is the store’s own dispense from the first-expiring usable batch that holds the quantity, so expired stock is refused and the counter’s stock moves once. The tests the facility gives free are its own list, and each one given is recorded against the patient and kept; a mistake is voided with a reason. Each month the return is counted from the store and the tests: patients given free medicines, issues, items out of stock at month end, tests and patients tested. A patient told to buy a listed medicine outside is counted from the pharmacy’s own register. The return is filed by hand and its acknowledgement recorded.
