What it is

For a microbiology laboratory reporting to the national Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Network. Each month’s antibiogram is drawn from MicroBench’s verified isolates — contaminants never count, and an isolate counts in the month it was verified — as specimen × organism × antibiotic, with the number tested beside the susceptible, intermediate and resistant counts, so no percentage ever travels without its denominator. Organism and antibiotic names are the bench’s, folded so one typo does not split a row. No breakpoint, priority-pathogen list or minimum count ships: the microbiologist reads the denominators. When a month ends it is frozen once, by a named person, and kept exactly as frozen; an isolate verified later shows beside it, never inside it. The frozen month downloads as CSV with no patient, culture or accession number in it. Each month the return is counted — isolates, pathogens, contaminants left out, isolates with no sensitivity result, results, resistant results and organisms — filed by hand and its acknowledgement recorded.
