What it is

Registration, search and the master patient index. Matching runs across spelling, phonetics and Devanagari transliteration; a strong match must be resolved by a person; merges are reversible and logged. MRNs are gapless — a failed save releases the number. Duplicate records looks across the registry for records that may be one person — the same phone with a similar name, or the same birth date with a close name — and lists the pairs side by side for a person; before a merge it shows, table by table, what will move to the record that stays and what stays behind as evidence, and flags a different birth date, sex or phone. “Not the same person” is kept as an answer, every merge carries its reason, and a merge is undone from the same list.
