What it is

Check-in from the patient’s own phone, with no queue at the desk. The QR at the door is the clinic’s arrival link, which the desk can print and rotate. The patient types their mobile number and gets a one-time code by WhatsApp or SMS — nothing about the visit is shown until the code proves the phone is theirs. Then they see their visit: the time, the doctor, the visit type and the fee, priced from the clinic’s own tariff. They can pay the fee as a deposit by UPI through the clinic’s own merchant account, or at the desk. The check-in itself is the desk’s own: the visit is arrived and a waiting-room token issued exactly as the front desk would, and the patient then watches their place in the line on the same page. If the clinic has no way to send a code yet, the page says so and sends the patient to the desk — it never checks anybody in on a number alone.

How it works

  1. Print the door QRThe desk prints the clinic’s arrival QR for the door; it can be rotated any time if it leaks.
  2. Patient proves their numberThey scan, type their mobile and enter the code sent by WhatsApp or SMS — only then is their visit shown.
  3. Pay and get a tokenThey pay the fee by UPI or choose the desk, are checked in with a token, and watch their place in the line.

Rules it keeps

What it does not do, by design. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.

It never shows a name or a visit before the one-time code, never checks in a phone number that matches two visits (the desk sorts that out in person), and never takes money except through the clinic’s own merchant account.

Questions clinics ask

What does SelfCheck do?
Patients scan the QR at the door, prove their number and check in from their own phone. What data does SelfCheck read and write?
SelfCheck reads today’s bookings at this facility, the visit’s doctor, type and price, the queue position and writes each attempt at the door and how far it got, the check-in and token, through the desk’s own check-in, a UPI deposit link for the fee, when chosen. Its data class is PHI-lite. Every app works on the same patient record — nothing is copied into a silo.
What does SelfCheck deliberately not do?
It never shows a name or a visit before the one-time code, never checks in a phone number that matches two visits (the desk sorts that out in person), and never takes money except through the clinic’s own merchant account.
What happens to our data if we uninstall SelfCheck?
The door page stops. Check-ins already made stay as ordinary check-ins; the arrival link keeps working for the plain arrival page.
Is SelfCheck available today?
Yes — SelfCheck is live in clinics today. Set up your practice on MedAppz and install it from your dashboard.
