Linen counted out of the ward and counted back in.

In plain words: Count linen out to the laundry and back again.

What LinenLoop does

Count the soiled linen out of a ward, send it to the laundry, and count it back — clean, condemned with a reason, or short. What is short is arithmetic over the counts rather than a figure anybody types, and the cycle cannot be closed while it is short unless somebody writes down where the pieces went. Par levels per room say what a ward should be holding and how much of that is in the wash right now.

How you actually use it

  1. List what the hospital countsOn the Articles tab add each class of linen with a code and a name. An article already on the list is refused.
  2. Count the soiled linen outOn Wash cycles pick the room, name the laundry, and count one article to start the cycle. The room picker lists the wards, theatres, ICUs, crash carts and other rooms this hospital has on its stock locations, a cycle with nothing counted is refused, and so is a room the hospital does not keep — “That room is not one this hospital keeps linen in.”
  3. Send it, then count it backSend it marks the cycle at the laundry. When it returns, enter what came back clean and what is written off with its reason, and press Count it back. More cannot come back than went out, and a condemned piece needs a reason.
  4. Close the cycleWhat is short is the arithmetic over the counts. A short cycle will not close until Where the missing pieces went is written down.
  5. Keep the cupboardsOn the Cupboards tab set a par level per article for each room, and read what the room should hold against how much of it is in the wash right now.

ward store rooms

What it writes

wash cyclescondemnations
Same patient record as every other app — nothing is copied into a silo. Data class: No PHI.

What it does not do

It does not accept more linen back than went out, and it will not close a short cycle without a written reason for the loss. It does not follow an individual sheet: nothing in a hospital tags linen piece by piece, so it counts item classes per room and says so.

Every app page carries this section. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.
