What MachineLog does

Every significant machine — analyser, CT, autoclave, chair — with running hours, tests performed, downtime episodes and consumption, so the cost per use and the replace-or-repair decision are numbers, not arguments.

How you actually use it

  1. Add the machineName, kind (analyser, imaging, steriliser, laundry, other) and capacity per hour.
  2. Log each dayOpen the machine and press Log day with the runs, tests and minutes operated. A day of more than 1440 minutes is refused.
  3. Record a stoppageMachine down takes the reason (breakdown, maintenance, no reagent, no staff, power, other) and a note; Back up ends it. A second stoppage cannot open while one is still open.
  4. Enter the month’s costsConsumables, service and other, against the month shown. Negative costs are refused.
  5. Read the monthEach machine shows its tests, runs and days logged, the cost per test, utilisation and uptime, with the basis used printed at the foot of the board.
