What it is

A case is opened the moment the first email arrives from Lagos or Muscat or Dhaka, and it carries the whole journey: a doctor here reads the reports and writes the opinion a consulate is really being shown, the attendants travelling with them are named, the flight and the pickup are kept in one place, and the arrival and the departure are stamped as they happen. Where the case has got to is never a field anybody sets — it is computed from the registers that own each fact, so a board cannot show a patient as confirmed when no estimate was accepted. Nobody is marked as flown home until somebody says it is safe, or writes down why nobody had to — and clearing somebody to fly is the treating doctor’s call. Trip plans: the trip laid out day by day from arrival to the flight home (appointments, the procedure, recovery days, travel) with the undated checklist of documents to carry and packing, each line able to point at a booking already in the diary and taking that booking’s day as the diary has it; a family visit, for somebody living abroad coming home while a relative is treated here, with the relative’s bookings and admission and the traveller’s own checkup lined up against the trip and a date outside it, or a checkup on the procedure day, flagged; going home with the escort named, what the journey needs, the doctor or hospital taking over at home, the follow-up there and the day the discharge summary went to them; and the guarantee-of-payment letter drafted from the case in each insurer’s own format — the fields that insurer asks for, in its order, with where the format came from — refused while any is missing, kept as drafted, sent, and the insurer’s answer recorded.

How it works

  1. Open the case when the email arrivesType the name on the enquiry, the country they are travelling from and what they are coming for. The case exists before the patient is registered, because the enquiry always arrives first.
  2. Get the opinion written downA doctor reads the reports and records what they found, what they would do, the nights in hospital and the days in India. The days in the country can never be fewer than the nights on the ward.
  3. Name who is travelling with themEach attendant is added by name and relationship, because the invitation letter counts them and each one needs a visa of their own.
  4. Plan the trip, then stamp the arrival and the flight homeOn Trip plans, lay the days out, line a family visit up with the relative’s dates, name the escort and the doctor taking over at home, and draft the insurer’s letter in its own format. Mark them landed when they reach you; a departure will not save until the treating doctor has cleared them to fly, or somebody has written down why that was not needed.

Rules it keeps

What it does not do, by design. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.

It books no flight, no hotel and no visa — this product talks to no airline and no consulate — and it books, moves or cancels no appointment: a plan lines up dates the diary already holds.

What data does GlobalDesk read and write?
GlobalDesk reads the patient record, the accepted estimate, the opinion on the case, the diary and the ward and writes international cases, doctor opinions, arrivals and departures, attendants and itineraries, day-by-day trip plans, going-home plans, insurer formats and guarantee letters. Its data class is PHI-lite. Every app works on the same patient record — nothing is copied into a silo.
