The estimate in the patient’s own currency, at a rate that is stored with the number.

In plain words: Quote the estimate in the patient’s own currency at a rate you keep.

What ForexDesk does

PriceQuote prices the work in rupees from the live tariff; this states that price in the currency the patient banks in, at one named rate that is saved with the estimate and never worked out again. A quotation that changed because the rupee moved on Tuesday is not a quotation. The rate list is typed in, not fetched: the hospital’s own treasury rate is the one it will actually be paid at. Money that arrives early is recorded as what the bank credited rather than what the arithmetic says, because a wire always lands light. And the rule that matters: unused money goes back in the same share of the rupees that arrived, so the patient carries none of the movement in the rate.

How you actually use it

  1. Put today’s rate on the listType the currency, the rupees to one unit and the day it applies. Nothing is fetched — this is the rate your treasury will honour.
  2. State the quotation in their currencyPick the case and the rupee quotation. The estimate carries both numbers and the rate between them, and it stops moving from that moment.
  3. Record the advance as the bank credited itEnter what was sent and what actually landed. The difference is the bank’s charges, and pretending otherwise makes the books wrong on every transfer.
  4. Give back what was not usedSay how much in their currency and why. The rupees go out in the same share as they came in, so nobody gains or loses on the rate.

What it writes

Same patient record as every other app — nothing is copied into a silo. Data class: PHI-lite.

What it does not do

It fetches no exchange rate from anywhere and moves no money. It does not price the treatment — PriceQuote does that, and this reads the total rather than inventing one. It will not convert a refund at today’s rate, however much that would suit whoever is holding it.

Every app page carries this section. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.

Questions clinics ask

What data does ForexDesk read and write?

ForexDesk reads the rupee quotation, the rate in force that day, what the bank credited and writes the rate list, estimates in a currency, advances received, refunds of what was not used. Its data class is PHI-lite. Every app works on the same patient record — nothing is copied into a silo.

What does ForexDesk deliberately not do?

It fetches no exchange rate from anywhere and moves no money. It does not price the treatment — PriceQuote does that, and this reads the total rather than inventing one. It will not convert a refund at today’s rate, however much that would suit whoever is holding it.

What happens to our data if we uninstall ForexDesk?

The bills, payments and quotations stay in billing. The rate list, the currency estimates and the advance ledger leave with the app.
