What CharityCare does

A fund with what the trust actually set aside, an application carrying the means assessment as declared and as evidenced, an approval, and the concession itself — which is a discount written into BillDesk’s own bill line, not a second money path. The register at the end is what a trust hospital has to produce: who was helped, from which fund, how much, against which bill.

How you actually use it

  1. Open the fundFunds takes a name, where the money comes from — trust, CSR, government, donation or the hospital itself — and the amount set aside; the tiles total set aside, committed and left across every fund on the list, and Close takes one out of the choices an application can name.
  2. Record the applicationNew application picks the patient and a live fund, free or subsidised, the amount asked for and why in at least five characters; the card states the rule that follows.
  3. Two different peopleAssess records the means assessment and Approve sets the amount; both names are written from the session in the SQL rather than from the request, and an application can only be approved after it has been assessed.
  4. Apply the concession to a bill lineChoose an approved application, paste the bill line id and the amount; a concession past the approval, past what the fund still holds or past the line it sits on is refused by a constraint, as is a second concession on the same line or a bill belonging to another patient.
  5. Read the registerThe register lists who was helped, from which fund and its source, free or subsidised, against which bill and for how much; Reverse asks why, and a reversed row stays on the list.

It does not commit more than the approval or more than the fund holds — both are constraint triggers, and a concession past either fails. It does not score eligibility: income bands and BPL thresholds are state rules and trust deeds, and none is typed into this product.
