What DepositLedger does

Deposits held against a live running-bill estimate, top-up prompts as the gap narrows, and the final reconciliation itemised — the discharge bill should be a confirmation, not a surprise.

How you actually use it

  1. Read deposit beside the running billThe board lists every admitted patient with the deposits held, what has been billed so far and what is uncovered in red — the billed figure is read straight from billing’s own bills, never copied here.
  2. Take the depositAmount, cash, card, UPI or bank, and a note; a deposit lands only on an open admission, so nothing can be topped up after discharge.
  3. Refund with a reason and an approverThe refund needs an amount, a reason and a named approver picked from the roster, and a refund larger than the balance is refused under a row lock on the admission.
  4. Read the ledger as a passbookLedger opens the entries in date order with in, out and the running balance after each — the position is always computed from the entries, deposits minus refunds.
