What it is

Every planned discharge as a pipeline — meds, summary, bills, transport — with the blocking item always visible. Today: each discharge planned for a day, every patient due out today with what is holding them named — a medicine, the summary, the bill, a family not yet arrived, transport — and who is clearing it, and the day read against the hospital’s own target time (none ships): out by it, out after it, still in. Pending results: at discharge, every lab or imaging order of the stay that has not resulted is listed, given an owner and the patient’s number, and every call logged with its outcome; it closes only once the result is in and the patient was reached after it, the test was cancelled, or a doctor writes why no action is needed.

How it works

  1. Define the checklistMedicines, summary, bills, transport. Name each item once and it becomes the standard discharge.
  2. Start a runPick the patient and the checklist. Its items become rows against that discharge.
  3. Tick them offThe blocking item stays visible instead of hiding at the bottom of a list.
  4. Issue the gate pass, then follow what is pendingThe run passes when nothing blocking is left open. On Today, plan who goes out today, name what holds each and who is clearing it, and read the day against your own target time; on Pending results, give every test still out an owner and the patient’s number, log each call, and close once the result is in and the patient was reached.

Rules it keeps

What it does not do, by design. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.

It will not issue a gate pass with an unresolved blocking item; overrides are signed.

What does DischargeLine do?

What data does DischargeLine read and write?
DischargeLine reads admissions, bills, prescriptions, lab and imaging orders and writes discharge tasks, gate passes, blockers, pending-result owners and call logs. Its data class is PHI-lite. Every app works on the same patient record — nothing is copied into a silo.
What does DischargeLine deliberately not do?
It will not issue a gate pass with an unresolved blocking item; overrides are signed.
What happens to our data if we uninstall DischargeLine?
