What it is

How it works

Hand it over in theatreTo whom, and in what condition. Anything not intact — leaked, mislabelled — opens a discrepancy there and then, with what actually happened.
Receive it at the labThe receipt closes the handover as a pair: the account it came from, and the person taking it.
Gross itFixative, blocks, the grossing note — the stage the turnaround clock is usually lost in.
