In plain words: Track specimens from theatre to the lab.

What SpecimenTrack does

Every specimen labelled in theatre, scanned at each handover, reconciled at the lab bench against the op note’s specimen list. A specimen the op note promised but the lab never received is an alarm, not a discovery at follow-up.

How you actually use it

  1. Hand it over in theatreTo whom, and in what condition. Anything not intact — leaked, mislabelled — opens a discrepancy there and then, with what actually happened.
  2. Receive it at the labThe receipt closes the handover as a pair: the account it came from, and the person taking it.
  3. Gross itFixative, blocks, the grossing note — the stage the turnaround clock is usually lost in.
  4. Report itThe report reference goes on the specimen, or the lab order is linked to it.
  5. Watch the benchEvery stage with its counts, the median turnaround, and any open discrepancy at the top where it cannot be missed.

What it writes

custody eventsreconciliations
Same patient record as every other app — nothing is copied into a silo. Data class: Full PHI.

What it does not do

It does not let the pathology report finalise while a listed specimen is unaccounted for.

Every app page carries this section. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.
