What TrayTrace does

Tray definitions — what belongs in each set — checked at every SteriLog cycle, missing instruments flagged before the case, repairs tracked per instrument.

How you actually use it

  1. Define what the set containsA tray definition is the contract: one instrument per line as name and count, and the same instrument listed twice is refused — give it one line with its count.
  2. Label the traysEach physical tray is added under its definition with its own label, unique across the hospital.
  3. Pack it onto a cyclePacking counts every line of the definition against a steriliser cycle that has not had its result yet; a line left uncounted, a count above the expected, or a short count without its note is refused.
  4. Let the cycle make it sterileSterile is refused unless the cycle it rode released — the guarded update joins the cycle — and a BI failure quarantines every tray of that cycle.
  5. Use it, and send it back dirtyOnly a sterile tray is opened for use, and only a used or quarantined tray returns to dirty for reprocessing.
