What SpaceDesk does

Consultation rooms, procedure rooms and chairs as resources with schedules and utilisation — the answer to “do we need another room or another shift” comes from data.

How you actually use it

  1. Register the rooms and chairsA space carries its name, its kind — consult room, procedure room, chair, counselling room, meeting room or other — and how many people it seats, which the service holds between 1 and 100.
  2. Book onePick the space, say what it is for and give the start and end times; a booking that ends before it starts is refused, and a clash is refused by a database exclusion constraint whose message names the booking already holding the slot.
  3. Cancel with a reasonCancelling asks why, stamps that reason with the person making it, and frees the slot without removing the fact that it was held.
  4. Find a room free right nowFree right now takes how many minutes you need and optionally the kind, and lists the spaces free that long with the time each is free until.
  5. Read utilisation with its windowUtilisation gives booked minutes against available minutes per space, and prints the opening window it assumed underneath — a percentage without that is used out of nothing.

What it reads

schedules

What it writes

room bookingsutilisation records
Same patient record as every other app — nothing is copied into a silo. Data class: No PHI.

What it does not do

It does not double-book a room any more than SlotGrid double-books a doctor.

Every app page carries this section. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.
