What DayCasePath does

The day-surgery pathway end to end: criteria at listing, discharge readiness scored (not felt), take-home instructions in the patient’s language, and an automated same-night SymptomLoop check-in that escalates.

How you actually use it

  1. Put the case on the pathwayPatient, procedure, and the escort who will take them home — named, because a day case without one is not a day case.
  2. Admit, then operateThe pathway follows the surgical case, so nobody types the operation twice.
  3. Score for dischargeModified PADSS — vitals, ambulation, nausea, surgical bleeding — recorded rather than felt. An unplanned overnight admission is recorded as exactly that.
  4. Send them homeWith the instructions, and with the night call outstanding on the board.
  5. Ring tonightThe same-night check-in stays on the board until somebody makes it. A call that finds a problem is a row: what the problem was, and what happened next.
