What BloodLine does

Requests, grouping, crossmatch and issue with cold-chain custody — every unit traceable from donor code to transfusion record. A whole-blood bag collected by DonorDesk lands here with its components under it, and a bag whose infection screen is pending or reactive cannot be crossmatched or issued, whatever the shelf says.

How you actually use it

  1. Register each unitUnit number, blood group, component — prbc, ffp, platelets or cryo — and expiry under Inventory; a bag is registered once, and Discard asks why.
  2. Raise a requestFind the patient, set the group, the component, the units needed and routine, urgent or massive, then press Request blood.
  3. Crossmatch a unitCrossmatch on the request lists the available units of that component; the API refuses an expired bag, the wrong component, or a group that is not ABO-compatible with the recipient.
  4. Issue, then transfuseIssue needs an open crossmatch on a crossmatched unit; Transfuse starts the record on an issued unit, asks for the reaction, and a bag is transfused once.
  5. Cancel with a reasonCancel request works only while the request is open with no unit issued, and asks why.
