What it is

For elderly pilgrims: the doctor’s fitness-to-travel assessment, and the pass and emergency card they carry on the route. The doctor records the pilgrimage and its dates, the outcome — fit, fit with advice, or not fit — their advice, the conditions the card should carry and the medicine-kit checklist, all in their own words. A pass is issued only for fit or fit with advice: a “not fit” assessment is kept and never becomes a card. An issued pass is numbered, carries a verification code and QR, and takes the emergency contacts and blood group from the record as they are that day; it is voided with a reason, never edited. The pilgrim carries the printed card and sees the same pass in the Patient App, and hears on the clinic’s WhatsApp line (with their consent, once the line is connected) that it is ready. A pilgrimage health camp scans the QR to see whether the pass is valid, withdrawn or past its dates, with the first name and initial, the journey and the clinic — nothing clinical.
