What it is

Inside Peer Read: staff pick a signed radiology report, tick which of its text goes (findings, impression), add context in their own words, name the outside reviewer (name, council registration number, email or phone) and ask one question. The preview shows exactly what the reviewer will see — modality, body part, technique, the ticked text, an age band and sex — and the server refuses to send a packet whose text still carries the patient’s name, MRN or a phone number on the record. The reviewer gets a link that lasts 1 to 30 days (7 by default), stored only as a hash and revocable with a reason; they read the packet and send one opinion with a declaration, which lands on the report in Peer Read and raises an alert. Every invite, open, opinion, revocation and dead-link attempt is on an append-only trail. The “look again” flag inside Peer Read is unchanged.

How it works

Choose the report and what goesOn Peer Read, under Second opinions from outside, choose a signed report, tick Send the findings and/or Send the impression, and add clinical context in your own words.
Preview what the reviewer will seePress Preview: it shows the exact packet — modality, body part, technique, the ticked text, an age band and sex. If the text still carries the patient’s name, MRN or phone, it says so and the link cannot be created until that text is unticked.
Name the reviewer and create the linkGive the reviewer’s name, council registration number and email or phone, the question, and how many days the link lasts (1 to 30). Create the link and send it yourself — it is shown once and never again.
Read the opinion and the trailThe reviewer’s opinion and declaration appear on the row, and an alert is raised. Trail lists every invite, open, opinion, revocation and dead-link attempt; Revoke ends the link with a reason.

Rules it keeps

What it does not do, by design. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.

It never gives an opinion of its own, and the reviewer never sees a name, MRN, phone or birth date — nor any report text staff did not tick.

No image is shared: the imaging module has no outside share.

The link is shown once and cannot be retrieved; what was sent cannot be edited, and an opinion is written once, never after expiry or revocation.
