What ReportRecall does

A signed radiology or lab report found to be wrong is recalled with the corrected finding written down, and the recipients you name are told through the messaging engine — one notice each, carrying the dispatch it went out on, or recording the telephone call if that is how it happened. The corrected radiology report is a NEW version that names the one it amends and states what moved; the original is frozen by a database trigger and stays exactly as it was signed. The recall closes only when a corrected report exists and every person told has acknowledged it, and an unanswered notice is stamped as overdue by an hourly sweep. Suggested recipients come from what the record actually holds: who wrote the report, who signed it, and who took the critical-result call.

How you actually use it

  1. Recall the signed reportRecall a signed report takes the radiology or lab report’s id, what went wrong, how serious it is — a correction, clinically significant or critical — and the finding the recipient has to be told; an unsigned report is a draft and is refused.
  2. Tell the people the record namesWho the record says had this report lists whoever wrote, signed or verified it and whoever took the critical-result call, each with that reason beside their name, and Email or Telephoned records the notice on the channel it went out on.
  3. Chase what never wentA notice that could not be sent says why in English — opted out, a daily or weekly cap, or the messaging rules — and Telephoned instead records the call that replaced it.
  4. Write the corrected reportWrite the corrected report issues a new signed version in your name naming the one it amends and stamping the original superseded in the same transaction, and a lab recall instead takes the id of the report that replaced it.
  5. Close the loopThey saw it records an acknowledgement, and the closing update refuses unless a corrected report exists, at least one person was told, and no notice is left unacknowledged — all three counted inside that one statement.
