What ReadQueue does

A radiologist’s day as a list rather than a shared folder. Unreported studies arrive on their own from the reporting room — every radiology report nobody has signed yet — and a study the image archive has been read in from is put on the list by its archive reference. They are routed to a subspecialty by the rules the hospital writes and timed against the turnaround targets the hospital sets. One reader holds a study at a time — a second reader is told who has it — and only the holder can put it back or mark it read. The board shows who has what open and what is past its target. NO TURNAROUND NUMBER SHIPS WITH THE APP: a study with no matching target carries no deadline at all and is shown as unmeasured, and a study nothing routes is shown as unrouted.

How you actually use it

  1. Set the targets and the routing firstOn the policy tab, set what this hospital promises for a stat, an urgent and a routine study, add the subspecialties, and write the rules that send a modality and study text to one of them — none of that ships with the app.
  2. Work the listEverything, Waiting and Mine filter the same list, which carries the patient, the study, the priority, the subspecialty and the target time, and shows a study nothing routed as unrouted rather than assigning it to somebody at random.
  3. Take a studyTake it claims the study for you; a second radiologist opening the same one is refused by name, and only the holder can Put back or mark it Read.
  4. Watch who is carrying whatWho is holding what lists each reader with what they are holding and how much of it is past its target, and a study with no matching target is shown as unmeasured rather than late.
  5. Add a study the archive holdsUnsigned radiology reports arrive on their own; a study that only exists in the image archive is added by its Study Instance UID, and only once that study has actually been read in.
