In plain words: Second reads of reports, blinded and graded.

What PeerRead does

A configurable sample of reports — plus every flagged category — gets a blinded second read; discordances are graded, discussed and trended per reader as education, with grave discordances feeding ReportRecall automatically.

How you actually use it

  1. Take a case off the waiting listReports sampled for a second read, plus every flagged category. You read it without the first report in front of you.
  2. Put down your findingsYour own findings and your own impression, before any comparison happens.
  3. CompareConcordant, or a discordance — and any discordance has to say what differed. That sentence is the teaching material.
  4. Adjudicate the major onesA major discordance waits for a final word from a third reader rather than dying in a corridor.
  5. Read the rate, not the rankingThe major-discordance rate over the window, for the department. There is no reader league table, deliberately.

What it writes

second readsdiscordance records
Same patient record as every other app — nothing is copied into a silo. Data class: Full PHI.

What it does not do

It does not publish reader league tables — discordance data educates, it does not rank.

Every app page carries this section. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.
