What NursingCarePlan does

Nursing diagnoses and interventions as structured plans with per-shift goals, reviewed at handover, closed with outcomes rather than expiring silently.

How you actually use it

  1. Write a care plan against an open admissionOn Write a care plan, pick Which patient… from the occupied beds, type the nursing diagnoses comma separated and press Open the plan. The service refuses a plan on a closed admission, a second active plan on the same admission, and a plan with no diagnosis.
  2. Set one goal per shiftGoals on the plan: morning, evening or night, what this shift is aiming at, then Set the goal. The database keeps one goal per shift on a plan, so each can be closed.
  3. Close goals from the boardOpen shift goals lists every open goal across the wards, overdue first. Close goal asks for met, partially met or not met; a goal that was not met needs the note that says why, and the service refuses it without.
  4. Close the planClose the plan closes when the admission is discharged, or earlier with a reason. Goals are not closed for you at discharge — each records its own outcome.
