PostMastectomyRecon

A staged breast reconstruction on one record, from expander to implant or flap.

What it is

For breast and plastic surgery teams. A reconstruction opens per side after a mastectomy, with the approach the surgeon plans — expander then implant, a direct implant, a flap, combined, or not decided yet — and whether radiotherapy is part of the treatment. Each stage is recorded once done: expander placed, exchanged for an implant, a flap, fat grafting, nipple reconstruction, revision, symmetrisation of the other side, with any complication; a device that went in is linked to its ImplantRegistry record, where it was scanned, not copied here. Expander fills are a ledger of millilitres added while an expander is in, totalled against the surgeon’s own planned final volume. The next stage the surgeon plans carries a date, so a reconstruction past that date, or with no next stage planned, leads the list. Stages and fills are kept as recorded. Nothing here plans a stage or a volume.
