What PainRounds does

Scheduled pain scoring with age-appropriate scales, breakthrough doses tracked against the trend, and uncontrolled pain escalating to the treating team, not to tomorrow.

How you actually use it

1. 1Set the roundOn Admissions, open the patient and choose every 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 or 24 hours, then Set schedule. Rounds are scheduled on open admissions only.
2. 2Score on schedulePain 0–10 — none, mild, moderate or severe — with a note, then Score. A number outside 0 to 10 is refused.
3. 3Work the due listDue for scoring lists every scheduled admission whose latest score has aged past its interval — and one never scored, counted from the admission itself — with how long overdue, the last score and when it was taken. Score now opens the row.
4. 4Treat breakthrough on the score that demanded itTreat breakthrough appears on a score of 4 or more: medication, position, ice or heat, distraction, escalated or other, with what was done, then Log. The service refuses an intervention on a lower score. The trend lists every score with the interventions that hang off it.

What it does not do

It does not average pain scores across a shift — the worst score drives the response.
