What OxygenGrid does

Liquid tanks, cylinder manifolds, PSA plants and concentrator banks, each with its capacity and its critical mark. Levels are recorded against a source, and the board computes the only number that matters at 2 a.m.: hours remaining at current burn, worked out on every load and stored nowhere, with the sources under their critical mark first.

How you actually use it

  1. Register each sourceOn Gas sources: the name, the kind — liquid tank, manifold cylinders, PSA plant or concentrator bank — the location, the capacity with its unit (litres, cubic metres, kg or percent) and the level it is critical at, then Add source. The database refuses a critical level at or above capacity, so nothing is in alarm the day it is registered.
  2. Log the levelOpen the source, type the level and press Log level. The level is the only thing anybody types. A reading above the source’s capacity is refused, and a retired source takes no further readings.
  3. Read burn rate and hours remainingBoth are computed on the server and stored nowhere: the burn rate is the total fall in level across the last six readings divided by the hours those falling intervals covered — an interval where the level rose, a refill, contributes nothing — and hours remaining is the latest level divided by that rate. The basis is printed at the foot of the list.
  4. Act nowThe top card lists every source below its critical level or under eight hours, with whether an order is placed against it.
  5. Place the order, mark it receivedOn the source, the vendor, the quantity and the expected date, then Place order. Mark received closes it; an order received twice is refused.
