What it is

For a lab chain with more than one processing lab and many collection points. Set which site processes which test or department, with a cut-off time and a daily capacity, in order of preference. When a collected sample is routed, it is given its destination and day once, and the reason is kept in words: the first site that can still take it today, otherwise tomorrow — flagged as a missed cut-off or a full day. Samples travel in batches: the courier scans each tube into the batch at the collection point, hands it over, and the receiving lab scans each tube off. The batch rides a SampleChain manifest, so custody stays in one record. A receipt that comes up short is closed as short and the missing tubes stay on the exceptions list, with samples waiting too long for a batch and batches not received in time. Every sample shows its clock from collection to the signed report. A franchise collection point’s samples are billed to the franchise in LabNetwork as they are routed.
