What FillSeat does

Keep the patients who want a sooner visit on one list, in arrival order. When a cancellation opens a slot, offer it explicitly — the message rides the consent engine, a slot carries at most one open offer at a time, and the first confirmation books through the same engine as every other appointment. A declined offer returns the patient to the line honestly, and the slot goes to the next person.

How you actually use it

  1. Put the patient on the listWith what they actually want — "earlier review with Dr Rao" — in arrival order, so the list is fair before anybody looks at it.
  2. Offer a slot when one opensOne open offer per slot, enforced in the database, so two people are never promised the same chair while both are deciding.
  3. The first confirmation takes itBooking happens through the same engine as every other appointment, so the slot is genuinely gone rather than provisionally gone.
  4. A decline returns them to the lineIn their place, honestly, and the slot goes straight to the next person on the list.
