What DiabFootWatch does

Annual monofilament and vascular grading, risk-tiered recall cadence, ulcer episodes with WoundWatch photo series, and offloading compliance recorded per review.

How you actually use it

  1. Enrol with the IWGDF gradeGrade 0 is yearly, 1 six-monthly, 2 quarterly and 3 monthly — the cadence is printed beside each choice, grades run 0 to 3, and a patient already on foot watch is refused until the current enrolment is stopped.
  2. Regrade as the foot changesA regrade appends a new row rather than editing the last; the latest grade is the one the registry uses and it sets the cadence the overdue verdict follows.
  3. Record the examMonofilament and pulses on each foot, left and right; the registry marks the exam overdue when the last one is older than the current grade’s cadence — or when there has never been one.
  4. Open the ulcer and offload itAn ulcer episode names its site, and offloading is none, cast, boot or shoe; offloading changes only on an open ulcer, and only an open ulcer can be marked healed.
  5. An unoffloaded ulcer flags redThe registry flags any patient with an open ulcer whose offloading is still none, computed on every load, because pressure on a wound is how toes are lost; a referral is vascular, orthotic or surgical.
