What BioBank does

Sample banking with consent scope recorded per aliquot, storage locations, freezer monitoring linkage, and consent withdrawal executed — physically and in the register.

How you actually use it

  1. Record consent, then bank the specimenRecord consent for the patient id first, then Bank specimen with the kind, quantity, unit, storage location and temperature; a specimen cannot be recorded without a consent record behind it.
  2. Make the tubesTubes on a specimen opens its aliquots; Add tube takes a label and a quantity, and a label already in this freezer is refused.
  3. Issue and traceIssue names the study, the researcher and the purpose, and only a stored tube can be issued; Custody lists every event on that tube in order.
  4. Withdraw consentWithdraw consent asks why and puts every tube of that donor on the Awaiting destruction card at once, in the same transaction.
  5. Record the destructionRecord destruction takes the method and an optional witness; nothing else clears the list, and a tube is destroyed once.
