A malaria diagnosis is tracked from species confirmation through radical-cure treatment, with a G6PD status check required before primaquine is given — because primaquine given to a G6PD-deficient patient can cause a haemolytic crisis, and this is the check that gets skipped when the patient is in a hurry to go home.
It does not release the primaquine prescription without a recorded G6PD result — a missing result blocks radical-cure dosing.
