What FluidBalance does

All intake and output charted against per-condition targets, cumulative balances visible at the bedside and on rounds, restriction breaches flagged as they happen.

How you actually use it

  1. Open the chart from Today’s balancesEvery open admission with what went in, what came out and the net for today. Entries chart only on an admission that is still open.
  2. Record intake or outputIntake by oral, IV, NG tube or other; output by urine, vomit, drain, stool or other; the millilitres and an optional note. An entry outside 1 to 5000 ml is refused.
  3. Set the daily net targetA floor, a ceiling or both, in millilitres. A target needs at least one bound, and the floor cannot sit above the ceiling.
  4. Read the balancePer shift and per day, computed on every load and stored nowhere. A day outside its target is marked off target in the list rather than written as a flag.

What it writes

balance entries
Same patient record as every other app — nothing is copied into a silo. Data class: Full PHI.

What it does not do

It does not estimate missing entries — a gap shows as a gap.

Every app page carries this section. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.
