What CirrhosisCare does

Six-monthly ultrasound and AFP for HCC surveillance, endoscopy per variceal grade, Child-Pugh and MELD trending, and decompensation flags that reach the hepatologist.

How you actually use it

  1. Enrol with the aetiologyAlcohol, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, NAFLD, autoimmune or other; a patient already on cirrhosis care is refused until the current enrolment is stopped.
  2. Record the five componentsBilirubin, albumin, INR, ascites and encephalopathy; each implausible value is refused by name — bilirubin outside 0.1–40, albumin outside 1–6, INR outside 0.5–10.
  3. Let the class compute itselfNeither the Child-Pugh score nor the class is stored anywhere: both are functions over the five components called in the select, so a corrected bilirubin rescores the whole history rather than leaving a stored number disagreeing with its own inputs.
  4. Record the scopeNo varices, small or large, with banding ticked if it was done; banding on a scope that found no varices is refused, and when the next scope falls due follows from what the last one saw.
  5. Record the HCC screenNormal, indeterminate or suspicious with the AFP; the next ultrasound is six months after the last, the registry works both due badges out from those dates on every load, and a patient with no scope or no screen on file reads as due.
