The trial, its ethics approval, its delegation log and its participants are Clinical Trials (TrialDesk), and so are the coordinators and the permissions — a second tile over the same rows would have been a second door to one register. What was missing was the step before screening, and that is what was built there: the trial’s own eligibility criteria, imported from the protocol document with its version and source named, and a shortlist of patients who are not refused by any of them. The machine answers three things only — age, sex, and whether a coded condition is on the problem list — and everything else stays with the coordinator as an unticked checklist. It does not decide eligibility, and there is no criterion parser: a natural-language rule read by software and acted on is how somebody gets offered a trial they cannot be in. A test the record cannot answer refuses nobody — the patient stays on the list with that criterion uncounted — and a diagnosis this hospital has never coded reads as absent. Nothing is sent to a sponsor or a site; the shortlist is internal until the coordinator screens somebody into the trial’s own register.
