What TrainingMatrix does

Role-wise competency requirements, certification records with expiry clocks (BLS/ACLS/fire), induction checklists for joiners, and the gap report that fills rosters safely.

How you actually use it

  1. Define the competencyA competency has a name, a kind — certification, skill or induction — how many months it stays valid, and the role codes it is required for, given as a comma-separated list.
  2. Read the matrixThe matrix is computed from the roles each person holds today, so a nurse who becomes a ward sister is asked for the new list without anybody editing a spreadsheet; every cell reads held, expired or missing.
  3. Record an achievementPick the person and the competency, give the date it was achieved and the evidence, and the signed-in user is recorded as the one vouching for it.
  4. Work the expiring listExpiring soon lists what runs out inside 30, 60 or 90 days with the days left, and the lapsed ones in red.
  5. Renew rather than extendRenew writes a new record from the new achievement date instead of pushing the old expiry out, so who held what and when stays readable — and a record renews once.
