What ScanSafe does

MRI screening against the implant registry and a structured questionnaire; contrast pathways check eGFR recency and allergy history with premedication protocols; an unresolved risk stops the table, not the technologist’s conscience.

How you actually use it

  1. Screen the patient before the scanFind them, pick the modality, and the screening opens.
  2. Answer every questionPacemaker, implantable defibrillator, aneurysm clip, cochlear implant, metal fragments in the eye, pregnancy, any other implant — with the make and model where there is one.
  3. Clear it, or it stopsAn unresolved answer blocks the scan. It is a block, not a warning the technologist has to be brave about.
  4. Override in writingA radiologist’s written justification, which goes onto the override register permanently. Then the scan can be cleared.
  5. Sign the screeningAfter signing it is a document and cannot be edited.

What it writes

Same patient record as every other app — nothing is copied into a silo. Data class: Full PHI.

What it does not do

It does not accept “patient says no implants” over a registry that says otherwise — conflicts must be resolved.

Every app page carries this section. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.
