How it works

Screen the patient before the scanFind them, pick the modality, and the screening opens.
Answer every questionPacemaker, implantable defibrillator, aneurysm clip, cochlear implant, metal fragments in the eye, pregnancy, any other implant — with the make and model where there is one.
Clear it, or it stopsAn unresolved answer blocks the scan. It is a block, not a warning the technologist has to be brave about.
Override in writingA radiologist’s written justification, which goes onto the override register permanently. Then the scan can be cleared.
Sign the screeningAfter signing it is a document and cannot be edited.
