What SafetyPlan does

Collaboratively built safety plans — warning signs, coping steps, contacts, means restriction — held by the patient in the companion and surfaced instantly to crisis-facing roles.

How you actually use it

  1. Find the patient and read the current planA patient’s plan shows the active plan’s five sections with the date it was published and the date it was last reviewed, or says there is none.
  2. Publish all five sectionsWarning signs, coping strategies the patient can use alone, support contacts written one per line as name, phone, relation, professional and crisis contacts, and the steps that make the environment safer — the plan does not publish without all five.
  3. Republish rather than editPublishing again supersedes the previous plan in the same transaction, and nothing in this app removes a plan.
  4. Work the review listDue for review lists every active plan untouched for ninety days with the days since, and Mark reviewed stamps it.

What it reads

risk register

What it writes

safety plans
Same patient record as every other app — nothing is copied into a silo. Data class: Full PHI.

What it does not do

It is never used as a discharge checkbox — an unreviewed plan past its date flags the clinician.

Every app page carries this section. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.
