What HemoLog does

Haemophilia factor usage — home and hospital — logged against bleeds and prophylaxis schedules, inhibitor screening on cadence, joint scores annually.

How you actually use it

  1. Enrol the patientHaemophilia A, haemophilia B, vWD or other; mild, moderate or severe; the baseline factor level. The first inhibitor result is stamped as none.
  2. Log bleedSite, kind — joint, muscle, mucosal, CNS or other — and minor or major. A CNS bleed is always major; the picker and the service both hold to it.
  3. Record doseProduct, units, and prophylaxis, on demand or surgical. An on-demand dose names the bleed it answered — the form will not send one without, and the service refuses it.
  4. Stamp the inhibitor resultNone, low titre or high titre; the newest stamp is the status in force.
  5. Read the registryThe annualised bleed rate is arithmetic on the ledger, never a column, beside units this year and whether the patient is on prophylaxis or on demand only.
