What it is

For a hospital that must or chooses to buy through the Government e-Marketplace. The bid and the order are placed on the government portal itself — GeMDesk has no connection to it, nothing is pulled from it and nothing is sent to it — so every stage here is entered by the person who saw it there. An order is added with the portal’s own order number (kept unique), the seller, the item, quantity and value, and the delivery date the order carries; it then moves forward only — ordered, accepted by the seller, dispatched — and each delivery received is counted against the quantity ordered, the order becoming delivered when it is all in. A payment is recorded with its reference after delivery; a cancelled order keeps its reason. An order past its delivery date shows how many days late, and an order can be linked to the hospital’s own purchase order so a GeM purchase sits in the one purchase record instead of a separate spreadsheet.
