What it is

A psychologist or psychiatrist referred by a court opens the file from the order: the court, the case number, the date, who ordered it and every question the court asked, with the people to be evaluated. Every contact is recorded as it happens — interviews, observations, collateral calls, record reviews, and instruments named with their citation as the evaluator gives it. The report is written in the court’s sections: background, findings, an answer to each referral question, and limitations, with the procedures listed from the contacts; it signs only when every section is written and every question answered, and is then kept as signed, filed and downloadable. The file is private: only the evaluators named on it can open it — to anyone else it does not exist — and every opening, write, signature, download and filing is logged on the file itself. Rain is not given the file.
