What it is

Daily and weekly rounds — genset, fire panel, water quality, gas alarms, UPS — as checklists that demand a reading or a photo, with failures becoming work orders that track to closure. Housekeeping: each area’s checklist on the shifts the practice names, walked once a shift and signed off by a supervisor who did not walk it, with the day’s board showing every area’s shifts not walked, waiting for the supervisor, or signed off. Audits by kind: a disability-access audit or a tobacco-free-zone audit (signage, the vendor-distance check, with photographs where a checkpoint needs one) names the standard it checks against with its source — the practice’s own reference, nothing reproduced — and every finding is an issue tracked to its action. Facility logs: the sewage or effluent plant, water tanks and outlets, earth pits and panels, each with the practice’s own test and cleaning interval and where it comes from; the limits per parameter from the consent order or the standard, with that source (none ships); each reading kept as recorded and judged against the limit in force that day, one outside it flagged the day it is entered and held until what engineering did is written down; tank cleanings and service logged; certificates with who issued them and until when, on the practice’s own reminder window, a renewal naming the one it replaces.

How it works

Build the walk as a templateName it, pick the area — ward, theatre, ICU, kitchen, plant room, generator, lift, fire system or other — and say every how many days it comes round, and its kind: engineering, housekeeping (with the shifts it runs on), a disability-access or tobacco-free audit (with the standard it checks against and its source). Under Checkpoints add what to check, ticking photo required where a tick is not enough.
Start the walkDue now lists every template whose interval has run out since its last closed round, and every template never walked. Start walk copies the template’s checkpoints into a round; a second open round on the same template is refused until the first is finished.
Record each checkpointOK, Issue with what is wrong, or N/A with why it does not apply. A checkpoint built to need evidence refuses OK without a photo or document reference.
Raise an action on every issueWhat will be done and the date it is due. Actions hang only off a checkpoint recorded as an issue.
Close, sign off, and keep the logsClose round is refused while a checkpoint has no verdict or an issue has no action; the refusal says which. On Shifts a supervisor who did not walk it signs each housekeeping walk off. On Logs record plant, water and electrical readings against your own limits — one outside is held until you say what was done — log tank cleaning, and keep certificates before they lapse.
