What CurbSide does

A question about a patient, put to a speciality or to one named colleague, asked and answered inside the record instead of in a corridor or on WhatsApp. The assistant can write a starting point — grounded in that patient’s own digest and kept in its own column, labelled as a draft — and the answer that lands in the record is the specialist’s own words under their own name.

How you actually use it

1. 1Ask the question against the patientAsk a specialist takes the patient, a speciality or one named colleague, and the question you would ask in the corridor; a colleague who does not work here is refused by a constraint trigger that re-reads the user list under the tenant policy.
2. 2Work the queueQuestions filters on Open, Answered or Everything with a For me tick, each row attached to the patient it is about, and opening one shows the question with who asked it and when.
3. 3Read the draft as a draftDraft a starting point puts the assistant’s text in its own dashed box labelled as a starting point and not the answer, above an empty answer field — it is never typed into the box for you.
4. 4Answer in your own wordsThe answer goes in under your name, and the database refuses one from the person who asked — answering your own question is not a second opinion.
5. 5The answer stays with the patientOnce answered the drawer prints the answer under the specialist’s name and the time, and the question stays on the list against the patient it was asked about.

What it does not do

It does not turn a draft into an answer: an answered question needs text and a named answerer, and a row CHECK refuses the asker answering their own question — both names are written from the session rather than from the request, so neither is a caller’s to choose. It holds no clinical reference library.
