◦ in design

Newborn jaundice screened by a photo, where no device exists.

Clinical · Full PHI · Paediatrics · Obstetrics & Gynaecology

What BiliScan does

A calibrated skin photo as a rough bilirubin screen for newborns in settings with no bilirubinometer — calibration card in frame, skin-tone-diverse validation as a design requirement, and every elevated screen routed to a real measurement, urgently.

What it reads

calibrated photos

What it writes

screening estimatesurgent referrals
Same patient record as every other app — nothing is copied into a silo. Data class: Full PHI.

What it does not do

It does not report a bilirubin value as fact — it grades urgency of getting the real test, and errs toward the hospital.

Every app page carries this section. A listing with only benefits is an advertisement.
