Every caesarean section is classified into its Robson group at the time of delivery, and the clinic’s own section rate is tracked group by group instead of as one blended number — the classification the World Health Organization recommends for comparing caesarean rates honestly across time and between units.
It does not decide whether a caesarean was necessary — it classifies the delivery that happened, for the rate to be read honestly.
