An external ventricular drain’s height above the reference point, hourly output, and any ICP reading are logged together, because the three only mean something read against each other — output that stops could be a blocked drain or a falling ICP, and only the combined chart tells you which. A drain reading outside the safe range is flagged to the covering team.
It does not adjust the drain height — that is a bedside clinical action; the app records the setting and the output against it.
