Radioactive waste from a nuclear medicine department is stored for the decay period its isotope requires, with the safe-disposal date calculated from the isotope’s half-life, and the disposal is logged only once that date has actually passed and a safety check confirms it.
It does not measure the radiation level itself — a radiation safety officer’s instrument does; this app calculates the expected decay date and logs the confirmed disposal.
