A patient on lipid-lowering therapy has their statin dose titrated against their LDL target on each result, and if the pattern points to familial hypercholesterolaemia, first-degree relatives are flagged for cascade screening — the step that catches the rest of an at-risk family instead of just the one patient who happened to get tested.
