A patient booked for colorectal surgery gets a bowel-prep checklist and a reminder sequence in the days before the operation, and the ward confirms completion before the case is allowed onto the list. A prep marked incomplete holds the slot instead of letting a poorly-prepped patient reach the theatre.
It does not dispense or prescribe the bowel-prep solution — that is the existing prescription workflow; this only tracks whether it was taken.
