A Guillain-Barré syndrome patient’s recovery — muscle strength, ventilator weaning, and rehabilitation milestones — is tracked from the acute admission through the months of recovery that follow, because the condition’s recovery is slow and uneven and a milestone missed early is easy to lose track of later.
